The Niseko Classic provides one of the few opportunities for cyclists in Asia to qualify for the prestigious Gran Fondo World Championships. Taking place in the height of July, riders will have the chance to ride through eclectic terrain, including the beautiful Panorama Line, picturesque Rankoshi and Kyowa areas, and even the coast of the Sea of Japan.

World-class cycling in the heart of Hokkaido
The Niseko Classic offers three distinct courses set within a series of incredible backdrops, with the first ever time trial race making its debut this summer.
Each race offers inspiring views of one of Hokkaido’s most beloved and recognisable sights, the inactive volcano, Mount Yotei, and run through some of the region's most breathtaking greenery. For those interested in a more casual romp through the area's attractions, the Yotei Fun Race is also available for signups.
The main event of the Niseko Classic is the 140km course, offering winding mountain roads clean, crisp air, stunning alpine vistas, and over 2,300m of gruelling vertical climbs. The combinations results in a race worthy of both Hokkaido’s captivating presence, and of the ever-growing international acclaim.
A shorter race is also being offered in the form of the Niseko Classic 70km course, with vertical climbs of up to 1,125m. The shorter course will have riders competing in an extended sprint to the Sea of Japan, before a challenging climb back to Annupuri and the Hirafu Resort.
The Yotei Circuit Fun Ride provides a shorter 58km race, perfect for bicycle families, cycling enthusiasts, and those wanting to test their racing mettle in a slightly less lengthy setting. Admission also provides entry into the Yotei Circuit prize draw, and grants entry to the After Ride party.
New for 2018 is the Niseko Classic time trial, a 3.2km sprint through the centre of Hirafu, across the area's most famous bridge, the St. Moritz Bridge. Individual riders battle themselves and other riders for the quickest possible time, with entrants starting every 30 seconds.
