Sakura Bloom 2018
Later than predicted but more beautiful than we had hoped, Niseko burst into colour this week with the dramatic arrival of central Hokkaido's sakura season!
This month, streets in the Hirafu Niseko area were lined with blooming cherry trees, with some of the region's most beautiful viewing spots found in the local area. Despite months of forecasting, Central Hokkaido's sakura bloomed slightly later this year than expected, largely thanks to the heavy snowfall of winter 2017/18.
Treated to incredible views of Mt. Yotei, peaceful mountain parks, and clear skies framed by the colours of spring blossom, many of our favourite hanami spots are located just a short drive away in areas such as Niseko, Kutchan, and the nearby Kyogoku, Makkari, and Arishima.
Thinking about experiencing Japan's famous cherry blossom for yourself and want to find out more about visiting Niseko in the spring?
